About SAC

The SAC access cover is a flush, custom-made access cover designed for recessed installation where safe and easy access is required. The robust construction is built to withstand frequent use while ensuring long service life with minimal maintenance.

The cover can be equipped with manual, electric or hydraulic opening systems and is fully adaptable in size and configuration to suit different environments and project requirements.

With its clean and discreet design, the SAC access cover is suitable for use in technical rooms, service ducts and water and drainage systems, making it a versatile solution for industrial and public environments.

SAC is a flush access cover, meaning it has a solid, flat surface without recess, unlike recessed covers such as the HIAC access cover, which can be infilled with materials like stone or wood for seamless integration.

What is the difference between a flush access cover and a recessed access cover?

A flush access cover (solid top), such as the SAC access cover, features a finished lid in steel or aluminium that sits level with the surrounding surface and is ready for immediate use.

A recessed access cover is designed to be infilled with materials such as concrete, paving, stone or tiles, allowing it to blend seamlessly into floor or ground surfaces.

The choice depends on requirements such as aesthetics, load class, visibility and surface finish.

Which access cover should I choose?

The right access cover depends on factors such as load requirements, environment (indoor or outdoor), surface material and whether a visible or recessed solution is preferred.

Flush access covers like SAC are ideal for durable, ready-to-use installations, while recessed covers are preferred where a seamless, integrated finish is required.

What load class access cover do I need?

The required load class depends on the type of traffic in the area.

Pedestrian areas require lower load ratings, while roads, airports and industrial environments require heavy-duty access covers designed for vehicle and truck loads.

Is the SAC access cover watertight?

No, the SAC access cover is not fully watertight but self-draining. Any water that passes the seals is safely directed away through an integrated drainage system.

Are flush access covers suitable for outdoor use?

Yes, flush access covers such as SAC are designed for both indoor and outdoor applications. They are commonly used in industrial areas, logistics zones, public environments and infrastructure projects.

What load class can the SAC access cover achieve?

The SAC access cover can be designed to meet a wide range of load classes in accordance with FACTA standards, from pedestrian traffic to heavy-duty vehicle and truck loads.

Can SAC access covers be made to custom sizes?

Yes, all SAC access covers are custom-made to meet project-specific requirements.

They can be manufactured in bespoke dimensions, configurations and load capacities to suit a wide range of applications.

When should you choose a flush access cover like SAC?

A flush access cover is the preferred solution when a robust, durable and ready-to-use cover is required.

With its solid top design, SAC provides a practical solution for environments where functionality, strength and ease of use are prioritised.

Where are flush ground access covers used?

Flush access covers are widely used in:

  • Industrial facilities and logistics areas
  • Commercial buildings and technical rooms
  • Infrastructure and service areas
  • Water and drainage systems and utility networks

They are ideal where reliable access is required in demanding environments.

Are flush access covers suitable for heavy traffic and vehicles?

Yes, flush access covers like SAC can be designed to withstand high loads, including cars, trucks and industrial traffic.

They are suitable for demanding environments where strength, durability and safety are critical.
