Aero Dual Rooflight

Aero Dual Rooflight

Openable rooflight with dual synchronised sections

Aero Dual Rooflight is a bespoke, electrically opening rooflight with two synchronised glazed sections. The dual-opening design creates a large central opening while reducing the space required for each opening section.

The rooflight is suitable for flat and low-pitched roofs and is particularly well suited to residential buildings, roof terraces, offices, hotels and commercial properties where natural daylight, ventilation and a large openable roof area are required.

The two glazed sections open simultaneously in opposite directions. This provides a generous opening without requiring one large glazed section to extend across the entire opening area.

A thermally broken aluminium frame and insulated glazing provide good thermal performance, while the slim construction creates a modern and discreet appearance.

What is an opening rooflight?

An opening rooflight is a roof window that can be opened to provide ventilation or safe access to the roof. Unlike a fixed rooflight, it also allows convenient access for servicing and maintenance of rooftop equipment.

What is the difference between a rooflight and a roof hatch?

A rooflight is primarily designed to bring natural daylight into a building, whereas a roof hatch is intended to provide access to the roof or, in some cases, smoke ventilation. Some products, such as the Aero Access Rooflight, combine multiple functions in a single solution.

When should you choose a rooflight with roof access?

A rooflight with roof access is an ideal solution for buildings with rooftop equipment that requires regular maintenance, such as HVAC units, solar panels or other technical installations. Combining natural daylight with roof access eliminates the need for a separate roof hatch.

Can a rooflight be used as a roof access hatch?

Yes. Certain opening rooflights are specifically designed to provide safe access to the roof. It is important to choose a product that is intended for this purpose and offers a suitable opening angle and a safe, robust design.

What are the benefits of an electrically opening rooflight?

An electrically opening rooflight offers convenient operation at the touch of a button. In addition to providing natural daylight, it can also be used for ventilation and safe roof access, making it a versatile solution for both residential and commercial buildings.

Are opening rooflights suitable for energy-efficient buildings?

Yes. Modern rooflights feature thermally broken aluminium profiles and high-performance insulating glass with low U-values, helping to improve thermal efficiency and reduce heat loss.

Can a rooflight be manufactured to bespoke dimensions?

Yes. Many rooflights are manufactured to bespoke dimensions and can be specified with a range of glazing options, including solar control glass, self-cleaning glass and enhanced safety glazing.

How do you maintain an opening rooflight?

To ensure long-term performance, rooflights should be cleaned regularly and the opening mechanism, fixings and seals should be inspected in accordance with the manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations.
