Discreet plasterboard inspection hatch with plaster-in frame
The A2 Inspection Hatch is designed to provide safe and convenient access to concealed services in walls and ceilings. It is suitable for accessing pipes and plumbing installations, electrical installations, cable routes, service cupboards and other technical equipment requiring inspection or maintenance.
The hatch features a Zintec steel frame, a plasterboard-faced door and a plaster-in frame. This allows the frame to be filled and painted together with the surrounding wall or ceiling, creating a discreet and fully integrated finish. It is therefore well suited to offices, commercial properties, residential buildings and public environments where easy access and a consistent appearance are required.
The inspection hatch is fitted with a continuous hinge and supplied with a square lock as standard. Non-fire-rated versions can also be equipped with a push-up lock, while a three-point locking system operated by a square key is standard for fire-rated versions.
For areas with fire safety requirements, the hatch is available with 60 minutes of fire resistance when installed in ceilings or 120 minutes when installed in walls. Fire-rated versions are tested in accordance with BS EN 1634-1:2008 and BS EN 1363-1:1988 and are fitted with intumescent seals within the frame.
The hatch is available in several standard sizes, ranging from 300 × 300 mm to 600 × 1200 mm. Bespoke sizes can be manufactured on request.
